Out of the Box is a family-friendly comedy show, which sees an unlikely character and his box bring audiences together through joyful awe, never knowing what to expect next. With every opening of the box comes new trick shots, mini acts, and hilarious opportunities for participation – but don’t worry – Darryl only ever wants you to leave the stage feeling like the star of the show (there’s no ridicule here!).

Delivered through gentle, non-verbal clowning, ordinary objects become extraordinary in the hands of Darryl – and you won’t believe the reaction he gets from a toothbrush in the finale! The show is a joyous celebration of PLAY throughout your life, whatever your age, bringing generations together through seriously skilful silliness.

  • Best suited to: Festivals, Street Shows, Outdoor Events, Intimate Indoor Venues (up to 200 capacity for the most attentive interaction), Cabarets and Galas.

    Performing space requirements:

    Ideal stage size: 6m x 4m; Minimum stage size: 3m x 3m; Height: 3m minimum

    Can work with any flat surface, and can create own performance area.

  • Everybody is welcome. Grown-ups love it, kids love it. Kids love watching their grown-ups get involved and be silly. The JOY of the show is its celebration of PLAY whatever your age, whatever language you speak. The show is beautifully adaptable to its audience be that adult-only or family oriented. Includes audience participation!

  • Act Duration: 5 mins – 60 mins (adaptable to suit event).

    Full show version: 60 mins.
